MP2 Silent film show
(UTC, UTC+00) (UTC, UTC+00)
Join us for an evening of silent western films with Buster Keaton and Roscoe Arbuckle, accompanied by live music from the Miller-Porfiris Duo. We begin with "The Great Train Robbery" (1902) one of the earliest of the genre, with its famous and shocking final scene. Next will be the hilarious antics of Buster Keaton and Roscoe"Fatty" Arbuckle, as they turn a traditional western film into satire in "Out West" (1918). The music was arranged to interact with the scenes and includes works by Grofé, Gliere, Grosz, Copland, and Mark O'Connor. Title cards in English and Icelandic.
Komdu með okkur í kvöld fyrir þöglum vesturmyndum með Buster Keaton og Roscoe Arbuckle, með lifandi tónlist frá Miller-Porfiris dúóinu. Við byrjum á "The Great Train Robbery" (1902), einni af fyrstu myndunum í þessum flokki, með sinni frægu og chokkandi loka senunni. Næst verður skemmtilegt uppátæki Buster Keaton og Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, þegar þeir breyta hefðbundinni vesturmynd í skopstæling í "Out West" (1918). Tónlistin var skipulögð til að samverka við senurnar og inniheldur verk eftir Grofé, Gliere, Grosz, Copland og Mark O'Connor.
